It is a proven fact that stress is bad for health. Stress can cause a wide array of physical ailments including heart problems, high blood pressure, stomach issues, depression, etc. We certainly don’t want our children to deal with stress. One of the main stress factors for children these days is bullying.

Bullying happens in our schools on a daily basis. Although the media and public are protesting such behaviors, it still goes on. However, school officials are participating in campaigns to end bullying. It is important to know the signs and behaviors to teach your children.

Teach your children that it is never okay to name call, hit, send mean text messages or gang up on another person. Also, teach them that they should never allow anyone to do these things to them. If so, know the school’s policy on the matter and contact a school employee immediately.

Kids should know that if they witness another student being bullied, they should step in and speak up. Schools are teaching kids to stand together as a united front against the outrageous behavior. The more bullies are defeated the less they will act out. Stand strong and stand together!
