We hear the word “asthma” often, but what exactly is this medical condition?
Asthma is characterized by inflammation of the bronchial tubes with increased production of a mucus secretion inside the tubes.
Some of the most common asthma symptoms include:
Wheezing
Coughing, especially at night and during/after exercise
Shortness of breath
Chest tightness, pressure, or pain
Not everyone who has asthma has the same symptoms in the same way. Also, someone’s asthma symptoms may vary from one asthma episode or attack to the next.
It’s crucial to keep asthma controlled. Please see your doctor with any questions you may have.
