Now that the Holidays are almost over, many families wish to get back on the healthy food route. It’s easier than you think with the right tools.

http://www.choosemyplate.gov/index.html is a great website that contains useful information such as; what’s a serving size, lists of food groups and subgroups, tips to get your kids to eat vegetables, sample menus, recipes and much more. This helpful tool plus talking with your doctor about healthy food choices can help you and your family get back on track!

Here is a list of some simple things you can do to be healthier in 2014:

*Switch to reduced fat milk (for children 2 years of age and up)
*Eat whole grain bread
*Incorporate more produce to your diet
*Be adventurous with produce. Perhaps try a new fruit/vegetable every few days
*Drink water instead of juice/pop
*Park a little farther from the supermarket or shopping mall entrance
*Buy a pedometer and use it to keep track of your daily steps.
