Traveling with kids doesn’t have to be a nightmare, although it can be challenging at times. Whether you are traveling by car or airplane, some essentials are helpful, such as:
*Healthy and non-perishable snacks (bananas, sliced apples, crackers, granola bars, dry cereal, raisins, bottled water)
*Entertainment for the kids (coloring and chapter books, magnetic checkers, Go Fish and memory cards)
*Baby care products (diapers, wipes, bibs, pacifier, hand sanitizer)
Unless you are traveling to a remote place, you will be able to buy essentials at a local supermarket or drugstore so there’s no need to panic if you realize you left some things behind. To make things easier, many airports have security lines for families with children so the wait is dramatically reduced. Also, to facilitate many airlines will let families with young children sit first on the plane. The flight attendants are usually very friendly and accommodating should you need anything for your little ones.
If you are traveling by plane, it might be helpful to visit the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Traveling with Children website http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/traveling-children
